Alla McGeary, shown here with her own Miss Kira, is a well known and
well respected rescuer of Doberman Pinschers. For 4 1/2 years she had volunteered with the Doberman Assistance, Rescue
and Education organization (DAR&E) in the MD/VA/DC area. "Stella" a Doberman with a deformed foot was removed from
a DAR&E foster home by DAR&E. After 10 months DAR&E had judged the foster home to be unsuitable for Stella.
Stella was then placed as a foster with Alla. Several weeks later DAR&E decided to adopt Stella to that previous
foster home from which she had been removed. Alla refused to agree with the adoption based on her concern for Stella
and her fear that Stella would be subjected to the same conditions that were the reasons for her original removal.
On March 18, 2007 Athy Conigliaro, President of DAR&E, swore out
a felony arrest warrant against Alla for "stealing" Stella. On March 23, 2007, Alla turned herself into the authorities
where she was formally arrested, handcuffed, finger printed, and had her mug shot taken -- FOR RESCUING STELLA!
In order to defend herself against the felony charges, Alla has had
to retain an attorney and is now facing legal expenses that are beyond her means -- FOR RESCUING STELLA!
Alla's concern has always been and STILL IS for the welfare of the
Dobes - even at the expense of her own welfare. Having rescued Stella from a Rescue group Alla now needs your help --
FOR RESCUING STELLA!
We are asking for your help so that Alla does not suffer the loss
of her freedom, financial resources and her dignity -- FOR RESCUING STELLA!
The only thing they have not touched is her integrity, her good name
AND her willingness to stake everything -- FOR RESCUING STELLA!
